It sounds like you want spoon bread. It is a very custardy bread that you eat with a spoon (hence the name).

2 cups milk

1 cup cornmeal

1 stick margarine/butter

1 teaspoon salt

4 eggs, separated

Scald milk (heat almost to boiling). Add meal, salt %26amp; butter. Cook slowly over medium heat until a soft mush. Stir i egg yolks, one at a time. Beat egg whites until stiff. Fold into first mixture. Greas a 9 or 10 inch iron skillet. Add mixture and bake at 350 degrees for 45 min. Serves 4 to 6.Do es any one have a good cajun cornmeal recipe more custard type?
