rice and peas/beans, apple compost or plantains, cabbage or broccoliWhat would be good sides (side dishes) for a Cajun chicken recipe?
Dirty Rice
Mash Potatoes with Chihauha cheese and jalapeno peppers
Spanish style pasta- red peppers, carmelized onions
Deep Fried Okra
Those should all compliment the Cajun Chicken
Some kind of rice dish. Maybe orzo or something like it. You could alwasy try cheesy mashed potatoes so that it takes some of the heat from the chicken. Stir fry some veggies. Or, steam some broccoli and put that on a bed of rice...makes a pretty side and its good for you!

Chili mashed sweet potatoes. Bake sweet potatoes, then split the skins and remove the potato flesh. Add 1/4 cup chicken broth or melted butter and 2 tsp chili pepper flakes with a dash of oregano. beat with mixer until smooth.
Pairs very well with cornbread fresh from the oven and your Cajun chicken.
okra and rice, red beans and rice or jambalaya. and then add another vegetable.
that does sound delicious! i hope you save me a plate!!!!
I live in Texas and here's some of the sides we eat with spicy chicken. Baked beans or just red beans, coleslaw, corn-on-the-cob, dirty rice (rice with onion and green bell pepper), some kind of greens (turnip, mustard, collard, Hopping John ( black-eyed-peas with onion and green bell pepper, and cornbread. Hope these will help.
ooo sounds good ...I would go with a nice jambalaya or spanish rice
I would suggest veggies. Like corn, green beans, or aeven a vergetable medley. If it not already included I would top it with rice and vegetables and have a side of mashed potatoes.
Good Luck!
